Nassau was home turf for the Dead, and on March 28th, 1994, they showed up and delivered one of those nights that Deep Heads still talk about. The Spring '94 run at the Coliseum was electric, and this was the closing night of a four-show stand on Long Island. The crowd knew every word, the band knew the room, and the music knew exactly where it wanted to go.
Set One opened with a rollicking Let the Good Times Roll before rolling through Bertha, Greatest Story Ever Told, West LA Fadeaway, and a gorgeous When I Paint My Masterpiece. Peggy-O brought the room down to a hush before The Music Never Stopped kicked everything back into gear to close.
Set Two was the kind of second set that makes you grateful you were standing in that building. He's Gone gave way to Goin' Down the Road Feeling Bad, then Drums and Space opened the cosmic door before All Along the Watchtower brought everyone back to earth. The Days Between was hauntingly beautiful, Turn On Your Love Light lit the whole place up, and Brokedown Palace sent the crowd out into the night exactly the way it should be sent.
