Hartford Phans know. The Meadows has always had that energy, and on July 9th, 2016, Phish reminded everyone why Connecticut is always worth the drive.
Set One opened with a rare Pigtail and never let up, rolling through The Moma Dance, a sweet Let Me Lie (its first appearance in 229 shows), and a monster YEM to close, complete with Trey on Marimba Lumina, Mike switching to keys, and Page on bass. Set Two was pure Gamehendge magic, delivering a rare Tela and The Lizards in the encore, weaving the mythology deep into a summer Saturday night. Down with Disease flowed into Sand, then Carini went dark, Twenty Years Later kept it deep, and Run Like an Antelope brought the crowd to its feet before Backwards Down the Number Line sent everyone home glowing. Loving Cup in the encore was the perfect closer.
