Eddie Vedder's festival. Eddie Vedder's beach. And on September 27th, 2026, Pearl Jam closed out the 10th anniversary of Ohana Festival the only way they know how -- by playing like it mattered.
The night carried weight before a note was played. The crowd was already singing along to Like a Stone over the PA when the band walked out, and Ed tried to keep it going before the house music cut. Then he spoke about Glen Hansard, what he meant to them, what he meant to all of us -- and Long Road began. Given to Fly followed, and then a Daughter that stretched out into U2's Bad and Hansard's own Down on Our Knees. The tribute was real, the emotion was palpable, and the ocean was right there behind it all.
Billy Strings came out mid-set for an acoustic Elderly Woman that was just Ed and Billy -- no band, no frills, just two guitars and a packed beach holding its breath. Then Billy plugged in for a Neil Young cover that shook the sand. Jeremy. Black. Better Man. Alive. And then an encore that ended with a shortened Yellow Ledbetter as the Pacific breeze carried it out over the water.
The band was onstage at 8:16 pm and offstage at 10:08 pm -- under two hours, but every minute earned.
